Plans and fees
A larger plan, in stages you can see coming.
How we split bigger treatment into stages, how payment works, and what insurance usually does and does not cover. Your exact cost is written down after an exam.
What a staged plan looks like.
An example for someone with two broken back teeth, one missing tooth and front teeth they would like lighter. Figures are typical ranges, not a quote.
Each stage is a separate approval. You can pause between stages, and the plan is updated if anything changes along the way.
| Stage | Treatment | Typical fee |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Two crowns on back teeth | $2,600 to $3,600 |
| 2 | Implant crown, after the surgeon has placed the implant | $2,200 to $2,900 |
| 3 | Whitening with take-home trays | $450 to $600 |
| Example total over 6 to 9 months | $5,250 to $7,100 | |
Paying
You pay for each stage as it happens.
A deposit to begin
Usually a third of the stage fee when you approve it, so lab work can be ordered.
The rest at fitting
The balance of that stage on the day the work is fitted. Debit, credit card or e-transfer.
Nothing in advance
We never ask you to pay for later stages before they start, and there is no interest to pay us.
Insurance, in general terms.
Ask us whether your treatment is covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
Do you bill my insurer directly?
Yes, for most private insurers. We send the claim on the day, and you pay only the part your plan does not cover. If your insurer does not accept direct billing, we give you a receipt to claim yourself.
What does insurance usually cover?
Many plans cover part of exams, cleanings, X-rays and fillings, and a smaller share of crowns and bridges, often with a yearly maximum. Cosmetic treatment such as whitening and veneers is rarely covered. Every plan is different, so we check yours before you decide.
Can you tell me my share before I start?
Yes. We send a pre-treatment estimate to your insurer with the fee codes from your plan. Their reply, usually within two weeks, tells you what they will pay.
Can a large plan be spread over two insurance years?
Often, yes. Staging the work across the turn of your benefit year can make better use of your yearly maximum. We plan the timing with you.
