No-heat help
No heat? A person answers, day or night.
From October 1 to April 30 our no-heat line is answered 24 hours a day by someone at Northwind, not a call centre. May to September we answer from 7 am to 10 pm.

Before you call
Six things to check in five minutes
About one no-heat call in five is one of these. Checking first can save you the call-out fee.
The thermostat
Set to Heat, set above room temperature, and the batteries aren't dead. A blank screen usually means batteries.
The furnace switch
A light switch on or near the furnace. It's easy to flip off by mistake. Check the breaker too.
The filter
A filter packed with dust can shut a furnace down on high temperature. Pull it out and try again.
The front panel
The furnace won't run if the door panel isn't pressed fully into place. Push it in firmly.
The pipes outside
High-efficiency furnaces vent through two white pipes on an outside wall. Clear any snow or frost from both ends.
Reset once, not more
Turn the furnace switch off for 30 seconds and back on. If it fails again, call us rather than resetting over and over.

We tell you these numbers on the phone before a van leaves. You can always choose to wait for a daytime visit instead.
The diagnostic is applied to the repair if you go ahead on the same visit. Parts and labour are quoted before work starts. Prices plus GST.

A price before work
We find the fault and tell you the cost. Most common parts are already on the van.

If a part has to be ordered, we lend you two electric heaters at no charge and come back as soon as it lands.
