Cooling
Central air and ductless
Air conditioning sized by measuring your house, installed in a day for most homes, and checked every spring if you want it to last.
Which one
Central air or ductless?
If your house has a furnace with ducts, central air is usually the simpler answer. If it doesn't, or one room never keeps up, ductless is.
Central air
- An outdoor unit and a coil on top of your furnace.
- Cools the whole house through the ducts you already have.
- Uses the furnace fan and filter, so one filter to change.
- Installed in one day in most homes.
Best for: homes with a forced-air furnace.
Ductless
- An outdoor unit and one or more heads on the wall.
- Each room with a head sets its own temperature.
- No ductwork; a small hole through the wall for the lines.
- One to three days, depending on the number of heads.
Best for: boiler-heated homes, additions, hot upstairs rooms.

Humidifiers and filters
Central humidifiers
Winter air in Winnipeg is dry enough to crack wood floors. A bypass humidifier on the furnace runs $650 to $900 installed; a steam unit for larger homes $1,500 to $2,200.
Filters
We fit a 4-inch media cabinet for $380 so you change the filter once or twice a year instead of every month. Plan members get a filter at each visit.
What we don't do
Commercial rooftop units and geothermal drilling. We'll pass you to people who specialise in both.
