Upper Mission, Kelowna
The lot dropped a full metre to the back fence. We excavated a level circle, held the uphill side with split granite blocks set as a seat wall, and laid small cobbles in rings to the centre. The client chose the best option for the edge and the good option for the field.
Glenmore, Kelowna
A wide shared yard behind a fourplex needed a place for neighbours to sit. We built three curved seat steps in precast concrete above a court of pavers laid in a fan pattern, with a ribbed wall to hold the bed above.
Lakeview Heights, West Kelowna
A dark, cracked concrete pad came out and a pale slab terrace went in, dropped one step lower so it reads as its own room. Large stepping slabs set flush with the lawn lead out to the garden without a full path.
Oyama, Lake Country
Outside the city, the owners wanted real wood. We set a steel fire bowl on a gravel pad ringed with flat stones, with clearances set back from the trees, so the lawn carries on right up to it.
