Rooms we have made

Six homes around Larkhaven: whole houses, single rooms and short colour consultations. Each one started with a conversation about how the people in it actually live.

Birchwood Residence

Full home interior

The house sits at the edge of a birch wood, so the windows were always going to be the main event. We kept the walls pale and the furniture low, and pulled everything toward the wood stove.

Rooms
Living room, family room, primary suite, entry
Materials
White oak floors, saddle leather, hand-tufted wool rug, limewashed walls, blackened steel
Scope
Space planning, furniture and lighting, colour, styling
Kitchen with putty-coloured cabinetry, a long oak island and wooden bar stools Kitchen with warm wood upper cabinets, a white island and four stools
02

Harbour Street Kitchen

Kitchen design

A family kitchen that had to work hard and still feel calm. Appliances sit behind full-height doors, and the island carries the warmth: oak, softly rounded, long enough for homework and dinner prep at once.

Rooms
Kitchen, walk-in pantry, breakfast counter
Materials
Rift-cut oak, putty lacquer, honed quartz, brushed nickel hardware
Scope
Kitchen layout, joinery drawings, lighting plan, trades coordination
Bathroom with a long concrete basin, wall-mounted black tap, arched mirror and a single pendant Water running from a dark tap into a hammered bronze basin
03

Fernhill Bath

Bath design

A narrow upstairs bathroom reworked around one long basin. Fewer, heavier materials (stone, cast concrete, dark metal) so the room reads as one quiet surface rather than a collection of fixtures.

Rooms
Main bathroom, powder room
Materials
Travertine-look porcelain, cast concrete basin, matte black and bronze tapware, walnut
Scope
Layout, fixtures and finishes, tile drawings, lighting
Bedroom with a warm brown panelled wall, low bed with striped cushions and a dark wood bench Bedroom with white bedding, a wooden side table and a glowing lamp
04

Quarry Lane Suite

Bedrooms and colour

Two bedrooms built around colour. A clay-brown wall in the primary room makes it feel enclosed and restful; the guest room stays lighter, with wood and linen doing the work.

Rooms
Primary bedroom, guest bedroom, dressing area
Materials
Clay-toned paint, cotton and linen bedding, walnut, wool bouclé
Scope
Colour and materials, furniture, soft furnishings, lighting
Living room seen through a wide plaster arch, with soft seating, shaded windows and a tall plant Dining room with a long wooden table, dark chairs and tall glass doors to the garden
05

Orchard Road

Renovation project management

A ground floor opened up into one long run of rooms. We drew the new arch, held the trades schedule together and kept the old house's proportions, so the work looks like it was always there.

Rooms
Living room, dining room, hall
Materials
Lime plaster, engineered oak, linen blinds, aged brass
Scope
Design, drawings, contractor coordination, site visits, snag list
Deep olive wall with a landscape painting above a rattan-fronted cabinet holding books and dried flowers Corner with an olive wall, a rattan cabinet, stacked books and a vase of yellow flowers
06

Wren Cottage

Colour and materials consultation

A two-session consultation for a small cottage. One deep olive green carried through the sitting room, with rattan, old books and pale oak to keep it from feeling heavy.

Rooms
Sitting room, reading corner
Materials
Deep olive eggshell, rattan, pale oak, unbleached linen
Scope
Colour scheme, paint schedule, sample boards, sourcing list
