Services

Four ways to work with us.

Each one is talk-based counselling with one of our five therapists. If you're not sure which fits, that's what the free phone consult is for.

Individual

Individual counselling

Time that's only yours, with one therapist, to untangle what has been building up.

Who it suits

  • Worry, stress or panic that is getting in the way of sleep, work or friendships.
  • Grief after a death, a pregnancy loss, a divorce or the end of a job.
  • Big changes: moving cities, becoming a parent, coming out, retiring, caring for an ageing parent.
  • Feeling flat or stuck without quite knowing why.

Couples

Couples counselling

  • 60 or 90 minutes
  • $195 or $275 per session
  • In person or online

Both of you, one therapist, and time set aside to talk about the hard part without it turning into the usual fight. Most sessions are together; early on, your therapist may suggest one individual session each.

Who it suits

  • Couples caught in the same argument, again and again.
  • Partners who have drifted apart and would like to find their way back.
  • Rebuilding after an affair or a broken promise.
  • Big decisions: moving in, having children, or separating as kindly as you can.

Teens

Teen sessions, with a parent check-in

For young people aged 13 to 17. Sessions run 50 minutes and cost $160, in person or online.

For your teen

A place to talk to an adult who isn't a parent or a teacher. Teens often come for:

  • School stress, exams and the pressure to have a plan.
  • Friendships, group chats and what happens online.
  • Worry, low mood or anger that's hard to explain.
  • Changes at home, like a separation or a move.

For you, the parent

You come along for the first ten minutes of the first session, to meet the therapist and hear how it works. After that, your teen's sessions are theirs.

If you'd like help with your side of things, you can book a parent session on your own, without your teen.

Every fourth session

The last 15 minutes become a check-in with a parent or guardian, with your teen in the room if they want to be. We talk about how things are going in general, never the details of what your teen has told us, unless they choose to share them.

Online

Online sessions, anywhere in Ontario

Every service on this page also works by video, with the same therapists, lengths and fees. We email a private link before each session. It opens in your browser, with nothing to install.

It suits people outside Ottawa, shift workers, parents with small children at home, and anyone who would rather skip a winter drive.

What you'll need

  • A room where no one can overhear you. A parked car works, as long as you're not driving.
  • Headphones if other people are home.
  • A steady connection. A phone is fine if the laptop isn't.
  • To be in Ontario at the time of the session.
