Groups
Church is easier to know around a kitchen table
On Sundays you sit in rows. Midweek you sit in someone's living room, eat together and get to know a few people properly. That's where most friendships here start.
Small groups this fall
Groups run from September to June and take a break over Christmas. Each one reads a short passage together and talks about real life: work, family, doubt, whatever's going on.
Osborne Village group
Hosted by Priya and Mark. Supper at 6:30, mostly young adults and couples.
St. Boniface group
Hosted by Louise. A quieter evening, tea and dessert, mixed ages.
Parents' group
At the church, 7:00 pm, with free childcare in the kids' rooms.
River Heights group
Hosted by Tom and Grace. A potluck supper and kids welcome.
Students' group
Near the University of Manitoba, 8:00 pm. Snacks, plenty of questions.
Daytime group
Thursdays at 10:30 am at the church, for retirees and shift workers.
We share addresses of groups in homes once you've talked with us, not on the website.
Fridays, 7:00 to 9:30 pm
Youth night in the loft
For grades 7 to 12. The loft above the hall has table football, a ping-pong table, too many beanbags and a kitchen that runs on pizza. Around 8:00 we stop for a short talk and small-group chat, then back to the games.
Sam Kowalczyk leads youth with a team of trained volunteers. Bring a friend; nobody has to come to church on Sunday to come on Friday.
Parents: pick-up is at the side door at 9:30. Sam's number is on the sign-in sheet if you need to reach someone.
Sundays during the gathering
Riverside Kids
Kids stay with their family for the music, then go upstairs for a Bible story, a craft or game, and a snack. Marcus Oyelaran runs the program and knows every child by name, usually by the second week.
