Tuesday supper

A free hot meal in the hall at 220 Tannery Lane, for anyone who'd like one. Come early, come late, bring your kids, bring a friend.

Open to everyone. Really.

No sign-upWalk in. Nobody asks your name or address.
No sermonWe say grace quietly in the kitchen. That's it.
Take-homeLeftovers go home in containers at 7:00.

What's on the table

A main dish, a vegetarian option, salad, bread and dessert. Soup most of the winter. Jo Tremblay plans the menu and will happily tell you what's in anything if you have an allergy.

Who comes

Seniors from the apartment blocks on Mill Street, students, families after work, people going through a hard stretch, neighbours who just like the company. You'll sit wherever there's a chair.

Volunteer

Cook, serve, or wash up

Around forty volunteers keep supper running, in teams that come once or twice a month. You don't need to be part of the church, and you don't need to be a good cook. Teens 14 and over are welcome with a parent.

To join a team, use the form below with "supper" in the last box, or call Jo at the office on (555) 555-0118.

Want to bring something?

You never need to bring anything to eat with us. If you'd like to help stock the kitchen, here's what goes furthest.

Always useful

  • Rice, pasta and dried lentils
  • Canned tomatoes and beans
  • Coffee and tea
  • Take-home containers with lids
  • Warm socks and mitts, November to March

Please hold on to

Home-cooked dishes and anything past its date. Food safety rules for a public kitchen mean we can't serve them, and we'd hate to throw anything out.

Drop-offs: Tuesdays from 3:00 pm at the side door, or Sunday mornings at the welcome desk.
