Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.
What we have done on this website
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- Animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
- The map on the first-Sunday page has a text description, and the address and parking details are also written out in full beside it.
- Tables of volunteer shifts and past messages use proper column headers.
- The livestream area is clearly labelled, and every recent message is listed as text.
Reaching us without the form
You never have to use the online form. Call (555) 555-0118, or email hello@riversidecommons.example, and we will take your note over the phone.
