Questions
Common questions, short answers.
If your question isn't here, call (555) 555-0184 or send us a note - we're happy to help.
Before your visit
Do I need a referral?
Not for physiotherapy - you can book directly. A consultation with an orthopaedic surgeon usually needs a referral from your family doctor or another physician. If you're unsure, call us and we'll help.
How soon can I be seen?
Send a request or call, and we'll offer you the next available time with the right clinician. If your problem is urgent, tell us when we call back.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable that lets us see and move the area - shorts for knee, hip, foot and ankle problems, and a vest or loose top for shoulders. Bring the shoes you walk or train in.
Is the clinic accessible?
Yes. We're on the ground floor with a step-free entrance, wide doors and an accessible washroom. Let us know if you need anything else to make your visit easier.
Treatment
Will I need surgery?
Many orthopaedic problems are managed without surgery. If surgery is worth considering, your surgeon will explain the options, the recovery and the alternatives, and the decision is yours.
Will I need a scan?
Not always. A careful examination often tells us enough. We review scans you already have, and arrange imaging only when it would change the plan.
Do you only see athletes?
No. We see people of all ages and activity levels - whether the goal is a marathon, a game of tennis, the garden or the stairs at home.
How do joint injections work here?
They start with a consultation. If an injection might suit you, we explain the options and aftercare first. Where it helps, injections are guided by ultrasound.
Practical
Is my visit covered by insurance?
It depends on the service and your plan. Many extended health plans cover physiotherapy; some ask for a physician's referral. Check with your provider - we'll give you an itemised receipt.
Can I change or cancel an appointment?
Yes. Please call or email at least one working day ahead so we can offer the time to someone else.
Where do I park?
There's parking in front of the building at 5 Harbourview Drive. Unit 2 is the first door on the left.
