Ottawa taco truck
We grind our own corn masa, press each tortilla at the window and cook it on the plancha while your filling goes on. Lunch downtown and in Kanata, summer evenings at the beer garden, and your party if you book us.
Why it tastes different
Most tacos start with a tortilla that was made yesterday and reheated. Ours start as a ball of masa. We cook dried corn with lime every Monday, grind it in the commissary kitchen, and bring the dough to the truck in coolers. At the window it goes into a cast-iron press, onto the plancha, and into your hands while it still bends without cracking.
It takes a little longer than a heat lamp. We think the smell coming out of the window makes up for it.
This week's spots
We update this every Sunday evening. Weekends go to festivals and private bookings, and the weather sometimes changes our plans, so check the Find us page or call the truck line before you head out.
