Accessibility statement

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

• A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a thick, high-contrast focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast; the coral colour is only used behind dark text, never as small text on white.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
• Every meaningful image has a text description; the hand-drawn doodles are decorative and hidden from screen readers.
• A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
• The fee table has a caption and column and row headers, so screen readers read each fee with its treatment.
• Opening hours are given as text and as a labelled table, not only as a picture.
• The appointment request form has a visible label on every field, says in words which fields are required, groups the new or returning choice, and announces the result of sending it.
• The one movement on the site, the home page photo settling into place, stops when your device asks for reduced motion.

Reaching us without the form

You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0119, or email hello@maplewooddental.example, and we will take your request with you.

Our clinic

The clinic is on the ground floor with step-free access, a wide automatic door, two accessible parking spaces and an accessible washroom. Tell us when you book if you need extra time, a quiet room or a translator.

Known limitations
