Service & pricing

Every line of the bill, before you sign anything

Your estimate has three parts: food per guest, staff by the hour, and the service charge. Here is how each is worked out, when payments fall due, and what comes in our van.

Black and white: a bartender in an apron pouring white wine into a glass at a bar

Staff rates

Each person is booked for at least five hours, counted from arrival at the venue to departure, so set-up and clearing are in the hours you see.

Hourly rates for event staff
RoleWhat they doPer hour
CaptainRuns the room, keeps the timeline, your one contact on the day$48
ServerSets tables, serves, clears, pours coffee, tidies as the night goes$36
BartenderSets up and pours your bar, checks ID, follows your permit's hours$38
Chef on siteFinishes and plates at the venue, carves at a buffet line$52

Hours after 1 am are billed at time and a half. Kitchen prep and cooking at our kitchen are in the food price.

The service charge

An 18% service charge is added to food and staff. It covers planning, the van and fuel, our equipment, washing up and the kitchen crew's time on the day. It is not a tip, and our crew are paid properly without one. GST and PST are added to the total.

When payments fall due

  1. To hold the date

    25% deposit

With the signed agreement. Until then the date is still open to others.

  2. 60 days before

    Second 25%

We send a reminder two weeks ahead, by email, with the amount.

  3. 14 days before

    Final numbers

Guest count, dietary list and floor plan. Your invoice is updated to match.

  4. 7 days before

    The balance

By e-transfer or cheque. Extra hours on the night are invoiced the week after.

Cancel more than 120 days before the event and we return the deposit less $250. Closer than that, the deposit stays with us for the date we held.
