Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

• A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible brass focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast against the dark green background.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
• Every meaningful photograph has a text description; decorative lines and course numerals are hidden from screen readers.
• A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
• Prices on the menus are written out in the text next to each dish, and the staffing, rates and sample estimate tables have proper row and column headings.
• Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
• Pages reflow to a single column on a phone without scrolling sideways, and text can be enlarged to 200%.
• The small movement as sections come into view stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
