Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.
What we have done on this website
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline. The menu and the questions on the bread share page are standard expandable controls.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, including the light text over the photograph on the home page, which sits on a dark shaded area.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- This week’s bake schedule is written out as plain text, day by day, rather than shown as an image.
- Counter hours and wholesale prices are tables with row and column headings, so screen readers read each value with its day or bread.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- The only movement is a short slide-in on a few sections, and it stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
