Allergens and labels

What's on every label, and what we can't promise.

Every boxed lunch carries a printed label, and every hot tray a card listing what's in it. Here is how to read them, and where our kitchen's limits are.

How to read a box label

  1. Name and team

From the names list you send. Boxes are packed in alphabetical order.

  2. What's inside

The main, the side and the sweet, by name.

  3. Dietary badges

Only the ones that apply to the whole box. See what each one means below.

  4. Contains

Every priority allergen in that box, in plain words.

  5. Kitchen note

The same line on every label, because it's true of every box.

What each badge means

GF and DF mean made without those ingredients. They are about the recipe, not a promise about the kitchen.

  • (vegetarian)

    Vegetarian

No meat, poultry, fish or seafood, and no gelatin. May contain eggs and dairy.

  • (vegan)

    Vegan

No animal products at all: no meat, fish, dairy, eggs or honey.

  • (made without gluten)

    Made without gluten

No wheat, barley, rye or other gluten ingredients in the recipe. Made in the same kitchen as our bread and wraps.

  • (made without dairy)

    Made without dairy

No milk, butter, cream, cheese or whey in the recipe. Made alongside dishes that do contain dairy.

What our kitchen can't promise

We make everything in one kitchen, and that kitchen handles peanuts, tree nuts, wheat and gluten every day. Shared counters, ovens and fryers mean traces can turn up anywhere. So no box is promised nut-free or gluten-free, even when the recipe has no nuts or gluten in it.

If someone on your team has a severe allergy or celiac disease, tell us when you order. We'll send the full ingredient list for any dish. If that isn't enough, we'd rather you order their lunch from a dedicated allergen-free kitchen than take a chance with ours.
