Elopements and small weddings

Just the two of you, or almost

No timeline to keep, no room to fill. A small wedding leaves time to wander, and that's where most of the photos come from.

Places I keep going back to

Public places and a few private ones that welcome small ceremonies. Some parks ask for a photography or ceremony permit; I'll tell you which office to contact.

Niagara

  • Queen's Royal ParkThe gazebo and the lake at sunset, across the river mouth from Fort Niagara.
  • Short Hills Provincial ParkForest trails and a small waterfall. Beautiful in snow.
  • The Bench vineyardsRows of vines from Beamsville to Vineland, best from July to harvest.
  • Niagara GlenBoulders and river views for couples happy to walk in good shoes.

Prince Edward County

  • Sandbanks Provincial ParkDunes and long beaches. Weekday evenings are quietest.
  • Lake on the MountainA high lookout over the Bay of Quinte, with a pub dinner nearby.
  • Point PetreLimestone shoreline and wide sky, wild in the wind.
  • Picton backyards and farmsPlenty of County hosts rent their land for small ceremonies.
