Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.
What we have done on this website
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones, such as the wavy water lines, are hidden from screen readers.
- The diagrams (a blocked pipe, the sewer camera and our service area) each carry a written description, and the service area is also given as plain lists of neighbourhoods.
- Price tables have row and column headers, and on a phone each row reflows so nothing scrolls sideways.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, longer fields have a hint read out with them, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- Animation, including the moving water lines, stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
Reaching us without the form
You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0163, or email hello@tidewell.example, and we will take your request with you.
Known limitations
The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. Camera inspection recordings we send are video without narration; ask us and we will describe a recording in writing or talk you through it on the phone. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell us.
