Room to think things through, at your own pace.

Individual, couples and teen counselling with a team of five therapists, in a converted house on a quiet street or by video from anywhere in Ontario.

  • A free 15-minute phone consult first
  • Evening sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • A few sliding-scale spots every month

Who comes to us

People who are mostly coping, and would like things to feel a little less heavy.

  • Worry and stressYour mind runs ahead at night, work has crept into everything, or a low hum of worry has stopped going away.
  • Grief and lossSomeone has died, or something has ended, and the people around you expect you to be further along than you are.
  • Life changesA move, a new baby, a separation, retiring, caring for a parent. Even a change you chose can knock you sideways.
  • CouplesYou keep having the same argument. Or you have stopped arguing, and stopped really talking too.
  • Teens and their parentsYour teenager is having a hard time and would rather talk to someone who isn't you. That's normal, and we keep you in the loop.

Three kinds of counselling

About couples counselling

60 or 90 minutes · from $195

Teens

Sessions for 13 to 17 year olds, with a short check-in for a parent or guardian every fourth week.

About teen sessions

50 minutes · $160

How to start

Three steps, and you can stop after any of them.

  1. Send a short request

Your name, how to reach you and a few times that suit. You don't need to explain what's going on.

  2. Have a free 15-minute call

Someone from the team calls you back, usually within two working days. You ask questions; we suggest the therapist we think fits.

  3. Come to a first session

In the house or online. If it doesn't feel right after a session or two, tell us and we'll help you find someone who does.

In person or online

Same therapists, same fees. Pick whatever fits your week.

In person, in the Glebe

  • Four counselling rooms in a converted house, two of them on the ground floor.
  • A short walk from the Bank Street buses, with street parking on Sorrel Avenue.
  • A quiet waiting room with tea and water. You won't be sitting next to anyone's family.

Online, anywhere in Ontario

  • A private video link by email before each session. It opens in your browser.
  • You need to be in Ontario during the session, at home or somewhere you can't be overheard.
  • Handy for busy weeks, winter roads, small children at home or a long drive.

The free consult

Fifteen minutes on the phone, to see whether we're the right place for you.

It costs nothing and you're not signing up for anything. We'll ask what you're hoping for and which times you can do, tell you who on the team might suit, and answer questions about fees or how sessions work.

If we're not the right fit, for example if you need a diagnosis, medication or urgent care, we'll say so and point you somewhere better placed to help.
