The parish hall
A plain, well-kept hall beside the church, with a full kitchen and a level entrance. Community groups, family gatherings and receptions all welcome.
A room that does most things
The hall was added to the church in 1956 and refitted in 2014. It has a maple floor, a low stage at one end, good heating and big windows on the south side.
The kitchen has a six-burner range, two ovens, two fridges, a commercial dishwasher and place settings for 120. Tables and stacking chairs are included in every booking.
There's no parking lot of our own. Evenings and weekends, street parking on Brunswick and Charlotte is free and usually easy.
Getting in and around
- Level entrance from the Charlotte Street side, with an automatic door opener.
- Everything on one floor, including the kitchen.
- An accessible washroom with grab bars and room to turn.
- Bright overhead lighting that can be dimmed in two zones.
- Tables at standard height; a lower serving table on request.
What it costs to rent
Minimum booking two hours. Time includes setting up and tidying away.
| Who's booking | Rate |
|---|---|
| Community and non-profit groups | $30 an hour |
| Private events and businesses | $55 an hour |
| Full day, Saturday (9:00 to 11:00 pm) | $650 |
| Use of the kitchen | $40 a booking |
| Damage deposit, private events | $200, refundable |
Regular weekly groups can ask about a term rate. Parish groups use the hall at no charge, so some evenings are taken; the office will tell you what's free.
A few things we ask
- Alcohol only with a New Brunswick special-occasion licence and event insurance, both shown to the office a week before.
- Everyone out by 11:00 pm, and music down by 10:30 pm for the neighbours.
- No confetti, glitter or open flames other than candles in holders.
- Tables and chairs stacked back where you found them.
- Rubbish and recycling into the bins behind the kitchen.
- The church itself is not part of a hall booking.
- Children's events need an adult in charge for every ten children.
- Please leave the kitchen as you'd want to find it.
