Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

• A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
• Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
• Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
• Nothing on the website moves, flashes or plays sound.
• Every menu price is written as text beside its dish, not inside a picture of a board.
• The weekly schedule is one headed section per day, so it reads in order with a screen reader and becomes a simple list on a phone.
• The catering comparison is a real table with row and column headers.
