The loop

Three steps, as many times as you like

There's no route to follow and nobody timing you. Heat up, cool down hard, then lie still long enough to feel the difference. Most guests go round three or four times.

  1. Hot

    38–85°C

A round wooden hot tub with steps, set in a snowy spruce forest

Soak in the hot pools, then sweat in the cedar sauna or the eucalyptus steam room. Ten to fifteen minutes is about right.

  2. Cold

    6–10°C

A hole in a sheet of blue ice showing dark water below

Lower yourself into a cold plunge or tip the bucket shower over your head. Ten seconds to a minute, then out.

  3. Rest

    22–24°C

A small wooden cabin with a glass front standing in snow at the edge of the forest

Wrap up and lie down in a heated cabin facing the trees. Stay fifteen to twenty minutes, until your heart rate settles.
