Classes and fees

Two classes, one room, mornings only.

Every class runs from 9:00 to 11:45, Monday to Friday, September to June. You choose how many mornings a week; fees are paid monthly over ten months.

Small tables for snack and art, and a play kitchen that gets a lot of use.

The classes

Both groups share the room, the garden and both teachers. They come together for work time and outdoor play, and split into their own groups for circle, stories and letters.

The 3s

For children turning three by December 31 of the year they start. Many are away from home for the first time, so the first weeks go gently and teachers help a lot with coats, toileting and goodbyes.

  • Two, three or five mornings a week
  • Short circle: songs, a story, a turn to talk
  • Pull-ups are fine; see our families page

The 4s and 5s

For four- and five-year-olds who aren't in full-day school yet. Kindergarten in Ontario is optional, and some families choose a quieter half-day year first. This group takes on longer projects and room jobs.

  • Three or five mornings a week
  • Circle with sound games, counting and show-and-tell
  • Helpers: setting snack, watering, feeding the worms

Monthly fees, in Canadian dollars

What a month costs

Fees are the same for both classes. They are paid in ten monthly payments, September to June, by e-transfer or pre-authorized debit. Snack is included.

The school year

We follow the local public school calendar for winter break and March break, and close on statutory holidays. We stay open on school PA days. A printed calendar with each year's dates comes home in August.

A gentle start: short first mornings in small groups, with a parent staying the first time.

    Closed Labour Day
  2. October

Leaf collecting, apple prints and the first rain-suit days.

    Closed Thanksgiving Monday
  3. November

Family conversations: twenty minutes with your child's teacher.

  4. December

A quiet month of baking dough and making gifts.

    Winter break, about two weeks
  5. January

Snow play every morning that the wind chill allows.

    Current families confirm next year
  6. February

Registration requests for September are read and visits begin.

Seed starting on the window sill.

    March break, one week

Second family conversations, and the worm bin wakes up.

  9. May

Planting week in the raised beds.

    Closed Victoria Day
  10. June

Last mornings in the garden and a picnic for families on the final day.

What we don't offer

We are a morning program only. We don't run afternoons, full days, before- or after-school care, summer camp, or infant and toddler care. If you need any of those, licensed child care centres in Guelph do, and we keep a short list we are happy to share. Just call or email us.
