Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.
What we have done on this website
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- The oven clock on the home page has a text description, and every bake on it is also written out as a list with its time.
- Opening hours and bread prices are real tables with row and column headings.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, the order types are a labelled group of standard radio buttons, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- The two small animations (the clock hand and the home page heading) stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
Reaching us without the form
You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0127, or email hello@emberandcrumb.example, and we will take your order with you.
The bakery itself
Step-free entrance, an accessible washroom and a large-print menu: see Visit for details.
