Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach Doug.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.
What we have done on this website
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible red focus outline.
- Text, buttons and the price tags meet AA colour contrast, including cream lettering on the navy price board.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- The price board is real text in a list, not a picture, so a screen reader reads each job with its price. The dotted lines between a job and its price are decoration and are hidden from screen readers.
- The diagram of the service area has a text description, and the same information is written out in the paragraph beside it.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones, including the round badge, are hidden from screen readers.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- The phone number is a tap-to-call link at the top of every page.
- The badge in the first screen turns in once when the page opens, and stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
