Coulee Row is a family flower farm on a few acres west of Lethbridge. We grow tulips, peonies, sweet peas, dahlias, zinnias and sunflowers in open rows, and sell them three ways: a weekly bouquet subscription, a self-serve farm stand, and buckets for people arranging their own wedding or party flowers.

How the honour box works

  1. Take what you like from the buckets, one bunch at a time.
  2. Check the price on the sign. Every bunch is tied and priced the same way each day.
  3. Pay in the grey box by the door: cash, with a tin of coins for change, or Interac e-transfer to stand@couleerow.example.
  4. Take a sheet of wrap and a water bag from the shelf, and close the cooler door behind you.

Find us

DIY flower buckets

Two white buckets filled with mixed flowers and greenery

For people arranging their own wedding or party flowers. You get loose, conditioned flowers and foliage in buckets, cut the morning you collect them, in the colours you ask for. We tell you how to keep them cool and how long to give yourself. We don't arrange or deliver.

Want bouquets, an arch or someone to set it all up? That is a florist's job, and a good local one is worth it. They are welcome to buy our flowers too.

    About 40 stems

A dinner party, or one long table for eight.

What if the weather hits a week of flowers?

Hail, wind and heat can each take a bed in an afternoon. If a flower you were counting on isn't there, we swap in the best of what is and tell you at pickup. If a storm leaves us short of a full bouquet, we credit that week to the end of your run. For buckets, we refund whatever we can't fill.

I missed my pickup. What now?

Your bouquet stays in the cooler until noon the next day. After that it goes on the stand. You can move one pickup per run to a later week if you tell us by Tuesday evening.

How long will they last in a vase?

Field-grown flowers aren't treated for shipping, so they open fast and smell like flowers. Plan on 5 to 7 days for tulips, peonies and dahlias, 4 to 5 for sweet peas, and 7 to 10 for zinnias and sunflowers. Use a clean vase, cut 2 cm off the stems, and change the water every second day.

Do you deliver or ship?

No. Everything is pickup only, at the farm or at the downtown spot on Wednesdays. Cut flowers travel badly, and we would rather hand them to you cold from the cooler.

Do you have flowers in winter?

No. Everything is grown outdoors, so the stand and the subscriptions run from late May to early October. There is nothing in the cooler in January.

Can you do the flowers for my wedding?

We sell buckets to people arranging their own. If you want designed bouquets, an arch or someone to set up, ask a local florist, and tell them they are welcome to buy flowers from us.

Ask for a spot

Tell us what you'd like and we'll write back with what is open. Dana, who runs the subscriptions, reads every request and answers it, usually within two days in season.
