Just moved in?

Rekey or replace: most people only need the first.

You don't know how many copies of the old keys are out there. Rekeying changes the pins inside the lock so the old keys stop working, and it costs a fraction of new hardware.

Rekey when

  • The locks work smoothly and you like how they look
  • You want one key for the front, back and garage doors
  • A former tenant, contractor or ex still has a key

$25 per cylinder, two keys each

Replace when

  • The bolt sticks, the key turns hard or the lock is worn loose
  • There is no deadbolt, or only a spring latch
  • You want a keypad or smart lock instead of a key

From $189 per deadbolt, installed

Deadbolts

A deadbolt is only as strong as the screws behind it.

Most break-ins through a front door don't defeat the lock. They split the frame where short screws hold the strike plate. Every deadbolt we fit gets a reinforced strike fixed into the wall stud.

Smart locks

Keypads and app locks, fitted with a key backup.

We install the smart lock you bought, or supply one we have tested on Hamilton winters. Before we leave, we set up the codes with you, check the bolt throws fully on a cold door, and leave a working key in your hand for the day the battery runs out.

Patio handle sets

Worn or broken mortise handles replaced to fit the existing holes, so the door doesn't need new cuts.
