Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada's accessibility laws.
What we have done on this website
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, including the light-on-dark price board.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones, like the barber-pole stripe, are hidden from screen readers.
- The price board is a set of plain lists: each service, its time and its price are written as text, and the dotted lines between them are hidden from screen readers.
- The barbers' working days are written out in words and in a table with row and column headers.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- Animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
Getting into the shop
There is one step at the front door, and we keep a portable ramp inside. The details, including the washroom, are on The shop page.
Reaching us without the form
You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0154, or email hello@brassblade.example, and we will take your request with you.
Known limitations
The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell us.
