Up to 9 babies with 3 educators. Feeds and naps follow each baby's own clock, with cribs in a quiet sleep room.

Bluestem cares for children from 6 months to 5 years in three rooms: infant, toddler and preschool. Each room has its own educators, its own routine and its own time in our fenced play yard, and every meal comes out of our own kitchen.
Three rooms
One room for each age, and a colour to find it by.
Children stay with the same small group and the same educators, and move up a room when they're ready.
Toddler room
1½–3years
Up to 15 toddlers with 3 educators. Climbing, songs, sand and water, and plenty of help with first words and first spoons.
Preschool room
3–5years
Up to 20 children with 2 educators. Projects that run for weeks, letters and numbers through play, and getting ready for kindergarten.

The same rhythm every day, so little ones know what comes next.
- Doors open. Free play while friends arrive.
- Outside in the play yard, in every season.
- A hot lunch from our own kitchen.
- Naps and quiet rest.
- Snack, then outside again, or paint and music.
- Last coats on and home.
Spots open by room and start month.
Most places open in late summer, when our oldest children leave for kindergarten and everyone moves up a room. Join the waitlist any time. It's free, and we call you when a spot opens in your child's room.
We care for children from 6 months to 5 years on weekdays. For drop-in, evening, weekend or school-age care, call and we'll point you to programs that offer it.
