Treatments
What happens in each treatment
Four kinds of massage, described plainly so you can choose before you come in. Each one starts with a short conversation about what you'd like worked on and what to leave alone.
-
Relaxation
Steady, moderate pressure and long strokes with oil.
- What happens in the session
- Long, flowing strokes with oil over the back, legs, arms, neck and shoulders, at a steady, moderate pressure. The room is warm and dim, and the therapist keeps conversation to a minimum unless you'd like to chat.
- Who usually picks it
- People coming for their first massage, anyone who wants a quiet hour at the end of a workday, and gift card holders who aren't sure what to choose.

- 90 minutes
From $65 for 30 minutes. Every price
-
Deep tissue
Slow, firm work on the areas you choose.
- What happens in the session
- Slower, firmer work into the muscles of the areas you pick, often the back, shoulders, neck or legs. The therapist builds pressure gradually and checks in often. Firm should never mean holding your breath; say so and they ease off.
- Who usually picks it
- Regular clients who prefer firm pressure, people who sit or stand all day at work, and runners and cyclists who want focused time on their legs. A 30-minute session covers one area.

-
Prenatal
Side-lying, supported by pillows and bolsters.
- What happens in the session
- You lie on your side, propped with pillows and bolsters, instead of face down. Pressure is gentle to moderate, and the session usually covers the back, hips, legs and feet. Turning over is slow and the therapist helps you rearrange the pillows each time.
- Who usually picks it
- Clients in their second or third trimester. If your pregnancy is considered higher risk, please check with your midwife or doctor before you request a session.

From $110 for 60 minutes. Every price
-
Hot stone
Warm basalt stones, used along with the hands.
- What happens in the session
- Smooth basalt stones are warmed in water and used with the hands, gliding along the back and legs, while a few rest in place as the therapist works elsewhere. The therapist tests each stone on their own forearm first, then checks the warmth with you.
- Who usually picks it
- People who feel the cold, winter regulars, and anyone who enjoys warmth more than firm pressure. It needs set-up time, so it starts at 60 minutes.

- 90 minutes
From $125 for 60 minutes. Every price
Good to know
What we don't do
Keeping to massage is what lets us do it with care.
- We don't diagnose. Your therapist will ask what you'd like from the session, not what's wrong with you.
- If something feels like a new injury, such as a recent fall or a pain that's new or getting worse, please see a physician or physiotherapist first.
- We don't offer spa services like facials, body wraps or scrubs. It's massage, in a quiet room, and that's all.
Not sure which one?
Choose "Not sure yet" on the request form. When we call to offer a time, we'll ask a couple of questions and suggest a treatment and length.
