Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible amber or navy focus outline.
  • Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast. Amber is used as a background behind dark text, never as small text on white.
  • Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
  • Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
  • Price tables use proper row and column headers, and on phones each row stacks so nothing needs sideways scrolling.
  • The service area sketch map and the panel load example have text descriptions, and every neighbourhood on the map is also in a plain list.
  • A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
  • Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
  • The one entrance animation on the home page stops when your device asks for reduced motion.

Reaching us without the form
