A neighbourhood diner on Wheatland Avenue. Eggs any way you like them until we lock the door at three, a soup made that morning, and pies rolled out by hand before the first coffee pours.
Breakfast and lunch only. No dinners and no delivery, but takeout is always welcome.
Today’s board
The board changes daily. This is what a typical Tuesday looks like; call and we’ll read you today’s while you find your keys.
Soup is gone when it’s gone, usually around one.
Whole pies to order
Every pie is a 9-inch, double crust or meringue, made with butter and lard the way Lorna’s aunt taught her. Call by 2 pm and it’s ready for pickup any time after 9 the next morning.
Pie plates are foil, no deposit. For three or more pies, give us two days.

Where we are
About us
We bought the old corner café in 2014 with a griddle that worked and a pie case that didn’t. Ben runs the line, Lorna runs the pies, and between them they know most of the regulars by their usual.
We keep it simple on purpose. Real butter, hash browns grated by hand, a soup that starts with a stock pot at six, and prices that let a family of four eat breakfast without wincing. We close at three so we can do it again tomorrow.
Lorna & Ben
No. We don’t deliver and we’re not on any delivery app. Takeout is always fine: call ahead and we’ll have it bagged at the counter.
No, we close at 3 pm every day. Last kitchen orders are at 2:45.
We don’t take reservations. For groups of eight or more, call in the morning and we’ll try to push tables together for you.
One day for one or two pies, two days for three or more. Call by 2 pm the day before.
Vegetarian, yes: omelettes, pancakes, perogies, the veggie wrap and most soups. We don’t have a gluten-free kitchen, so we can’t promise anything is free of gluten.
At pickup, by card or cash. We’ll confirm the total when we call you back about the request.
