Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast.
  • Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
  • Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
  • A clear heading structure and page landmarks, with a list of links to each section of the home page.
  • Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
  • The French flashcards are real buttons. Enter or Space turns them over. Screen readers hear both the French word and its English meaning without turning the card.
  • Questions and answers use plain open-and-close sections that work with a keyboard.
  • Animation, including the card flip and smooth scrolling, stops when your device asks for reduced motion. The card then swaps sides instantly.

Reaching us without the form

You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0129, or email hello@petitpont.example, and we will take your request with you.

Known limitations

The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. The flashcards do not play audio, so they do not show how a word sounds; ask in a lesson and you will hear it. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell us.

Accessibility contact

Please include the page you were on, what happened, and how we can reach you. We reply within 5 business days.
