Accessibility statement

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada's accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

• A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, including the yellow highlights.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
• Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
• The opening-hours chart on the home page is also written out in words for screen readers, and its colours are explained in a labelled key.
• The price menu is a real table with column headers, so screen readers read each price with its service and time.
• Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
• Nothing moves or flashes on its own. Hover effects switch off when your device asks for reduced motion.

You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0155, or email hello@northsidefade.example, and we will take your request with you. You can also walk in: the shop is on the ground floor with a step-free entrance from the plaza parking.

Known limitations

The photographs are illustrative and shown in black and white, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell us.
