Website accessibility

Accessibility statement

I want everyone to be able to use this website and get hold of me, whatever device or way of browsing you use.

The standard I aim for

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada's accessibility laws and Nova Scotia's Accessibility Act.

What's on this website

  • A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline.
  • Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, and every button is at least 44 pixels tall.
  • Every meaningful image has a text description; the drawings are decorative and hidden from screen readers.
  • A clear heading structure, page landmarks and a menu that jumps straight to each section.
  • Every form field has a visible label, and the form tells you whether your message went through.
  • On phones, a bar at the bottom of the screen keeps the call and text buttons within reach.
  • Animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The site is available in ten languages, including Hebrew and Arabic laid out right to left.

When I come to you

I work in your home, so tell me anything that makes the visit easier: if you'd rather I text than call, need a little longer to get to the door, or want the job and price explained in writing. I'm happy to fit around you.

Known limitations

The photographs on this website are illustrative pictures of tools and work, not of my own jobs, and their descriptions are brief. If anything here is hard to use, please tell me and I'll fix it.

Accessibility contact

I'm a one-person business, so you'll reach me directly:

Please include the page you were on, what happened, and how I can reach you. I reply within 5 business days, and usually much sooner.
