Working with your contractor
Who does what
Already have a renovator? Good. We slot into their schedule and keep them informed, so nobody waits on the electrician.
| Stage | Your contractor | Lumen & Oak |
|---|---|---|
| Planning | Shares drawings and the cabinet layout | Dusk walk-through, lighting plan, fixed electrical quote |
| Demolition | Opens walls and ceilings | Makes old circuits safe first, marks what stays |
| Rough-in | Framing, plumbing, then waits for our inspection | Runs new wiring and boxes, books the rough-in inspection |
| Finish | Drywall, cabinets, tile and paint | Fixtures, devices, dimmers, final inspection |
Permits and inspections, handled
Most renovation electrical in Victoria needs a permit. We pull the electrical permit for the work we do and book the inspections, at rough-in before walls close and again at the end.
You get copies of the paperwork when the job is signed off. Keep them with the house records; buyers and insurers sometimes ask.
Tell us where the renovation stands
Planning, contractor hired or already underway: we can usually fit in at any of the three.
