Your first visit, without the guesswork

We are taking new dogs and cats. Here is how a first visit goes, what to bring along, and what our most common services cost.

A visit, step by step

From the first call to the drive home

  1. You send a request

Use the form or call. Tell us your pet's name, the reason for the visit and the times that suit you.

  2. We call you back

Our front desk offers a time and asks the name of your last clinic, so we can request the records.

  3. The exam

About 30 minutes with a veterinarian. Cats wait in a quiet room away from the dogs.

  4. The plan

You leave with a written summary and, if needed, an estimate for next steps.

What to bring

A short list for the first visit

  • Your pet on a leash, or in a carrier with a towel inside (cats always in a carrier)
  • Any vaccine certificates or records you have at home
  • The food your pet eats, by brand name, or a photo of the bag
  • Medications and supplements, in their packaging
  • A fresh stool sample, if you can manage it
  • A short list of questions, so nothing gets forgotten

Typical fees

What common visits cost

Prices are in Canadian dollars before HST. Your pet's size, age and health can change the final cost, which is why we give you an estimate first.

How we talk about costs

Before any treatment beyond the exam, your veterinarian explains the options, from the full plan to the most important first step. You get a written estimate with a low and a high figure.

If something changes during a procedure, we call you before going further. Payment is due at the end of each visit, and we take debit, credit and e-transfer.
