Kettle River Plumbing
Accessibility statement
I want everyone to be able to use this website and reach me, with or without it.
The standard
I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.
What this website does
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast.
- Buttons, menu links and form fields are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
- On phones, Call and Text buttons stay at the bottom of the screen.
- The pricing guide is a real table with a caption and row headers, so screen readers read each job with its price.
- The area map has a text description, and every town and its travel charge is also listed in plain text beside it.
- The questions at the bottom open and close with a keyboard as well as a mouse or finger.
- Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
- Animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
Reaching me without the form
You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0171, or email dana@kettleriver.example, and I will take your request with you.
Known limitations
The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. The area map is a sketch, not to scale. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell me.
