Before the first visit

How it works

Five things to know before we start: how we meet, how we get in, what you hear from us, what happens when plans change, and what we will not do.

The meet and greet

  1. You send a request

Online or by phone. Tell us who your pets are and what you need.

  2. We visit, free

About 30 minutes at your home with the person who will be looking after your pets.

  3. You check the care sheet

We write up the routine and send it to you. You correct anything we got wrong, then we start.

Keys and getting in

We ask for a key in a combination lockbox by your door. That way no key travels around on a ring, and any of the three of us can get in if plans change. We can bring a lockbox for $35, and it is yours to keep.

Rather not have one? We will hold a single key, labelled with a code and never with your address, and lock it away when it is not in use. Alarm and lockbox codes are only ever taken in person, never by email or the online form.

An update after every visit

Before we leave your street, you get a text with a photo and a few lines: how long we were there, where we went, what was eaten and what came out the other end. Overnight stays get one in the evening and one in the morning.

Prefer email, or just a photo? Tell us at the meet and greet.

An example update

Back from 45 minutes round Churchill Park with Juno. She found a stick twice her length and carried it most of the way home. Pee and poop done, water topped up, door locked, key back in the box.

What we do not do

  • Board pets in our own homes
  • Take dogs with a bite history into group walks or adventures
  • Give injections, diagnose or treat anything: health questions go to your vet
  • Let dogs off leash where the bylaw or the trail says leash
  • Leave a dog alone in a parked vehicle
  • Hand your key to anyone outside the three of us

Sounds like a fit?

Send a request and we will book your free meet and greet.
