Accessibility statement

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

• A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, and form field borders are easy to see.
• Large text by default, with wide line spacing, set in Lexend, a typeface designed for easier reading.
• Plain words and short sentences throughout.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall. Main buttons and form choices are bigger still.
• Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
• The questions open and close with standard controls that work with a keyboard and screen readers.
• Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, choices are grouped under their question, and the result of sending the form is announced.
• The page fits a phone screen and text zoomed to 200% without scrolling sideways.
• The only animation is the yellow highlight in the main heading, drawn once. It does not run when your device asks for reduced motion.
