Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website and reach us.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, including the coral buttons, which carry dark navy text.
  • Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
  • Every meaningful photograph has a text description; decorative shapes and the staff initials are hidden from screen readers, and each person’s name and role are written out in text.
  • Opening hours are in a real table with a caption, so a screen reader reads each day with its hours.
  • Each fee is a list item that reads as the service followed by the price; the dotted line between them is decoration only.
  • A clear heading structure and page landmarks.
  • Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
  • The one small entrance movement on the fee card, and smooth scrolling to sections, stop when your device asks for reduced motion.

Reaching us without the form

You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0195, or email hello@harbourcats.example, and we will take your request with you.

Known limitations

The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell us.
