Play-based, Montessori-inspired mornings from 9:00 to 11:45, in one bright classroom with a fenced garden. Two teachers, up to sixteen children, September to June.
A morning here
Slow enough to finish what they started.
Children arrive at the garden gate, hang up their own coats and choose where to begin. Some go straight to the pouring trays. Some sit with a teacher and a basket of shells to sort. Some need ten quiet minutes on the reading cushion first, and that is fine too.
Nobody rings a bell every fifteen minutes. A child who is building a tower can keep building. We gather for a shared snack, a short circle in two small groups, and then everyone goes outside, in most weather, until it is time to go home.

Both classes share the room, the garden and the two teachers. They play together and split into their own groups for circle, stories and letters.
The garden
A fenced garden, used every day.
The classroom door opens straight onto our own garden. We go out most mornings for about an hour, in rain suits, snow pants or sun hats, and only stay in for thunder or deep cold.

September places are mostly settled each spring.
