Accessibility statement

Our standard

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada's accessibility laws.

What has been done on this website

• A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a thick, visible focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast. Orange is used for backgrounds and borders behind dark text, not for small orange text on light backgrounds.
• Buttons, links and form fields are at least 44 pixels tall.
• The flat rates are written as a list of labelled lines, with each price next to what it covers, so a screen reader reads "Service call, $95" in order.
• The opening hours are a real table with row headings.
• Every meaningful image has a text description; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• A clear heading structure and page landmarks on every page.
• Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
• The layout reflows to a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
• The small hover movement on buttons and the one entrance motion stop when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. The date field uses your browser's own date picker, which differs between browsers. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell me.
