Accessibility statement

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind Canada’s accessibility laws.

What we have done on this website

• A “Skip to content” link at the top of the page.
• Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a clear orange focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, including the light text on the green bands.
• Buttons, links and form fields are at least 44 pixels tall, so they are easy to tap.
• Every meaningful photo has a text description; the torn-paper edges are decoration and hidden from screen readers.
• The sketch map in the footer has a written description, and the street address and directions are given in plain text beside it.
• The hall rates are a real table with column and row headers.
• One heading structure and page landmarks on every page, and the menu sections are reachable from the top of the home page.
• Every form field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and the result of sending the form is announced.
• Nothing on the page moves on its own, and smooth scrolling turns off when your device asks for reduced motion.
• The handwritten font is only used for short labels, never for information you need to read at length.

You never have to use the online form. Call or text (555) 555-0123, email hello@cedarhollow.example, or find Ben at the church on Tuesday or Thursday from 10 to 3.

The building

There is a ramp on the garden side, the hall and its washroom are step-free, and large-print song sheets are by the door on Sunday.

Known limitations

The photographs are illustrative, and their descriptions are brief rather than detailed. If you find anything on this website that is hard to use, please tell us.
