Flower shop on Brindle Lane, Halifax
Maren and Theo make everyday bouquets, birthday and anniversary flowers, sympathy pieces and potted plants in a small shop off Agricola Street. Order by noon and it goes out the same afternoon to the peninsula, Dartmouth or Bedford.
On the counter today
What goes into each one follows the morning's flowers from the wholesaler and, in summer, Nova Scotia growers. The size and the price stay put.
Our house mix, whatever looked best this morning: roses, carnations, something trailing. Wrapped in paper with water at the stems.
Pink roses with spray roses and waxflower in soft white wrap. The one people order for birthdays.
White and blush roses with pale greens. Quiet enough for an anniversary or a thank-you.
Loud colour for a get-well or a good day: anemones, ranunculus, gerberas and button mums.
Monday to Saturday, anything ordered before twelve is delivered that afternoon. After that it goes out the next delivery day, or you can pick it up yourself until we close.
Maren (owner and florist) and Theo (florist) make every order at the bench behind the counter. You can watch, ask for more green and less pink, or show us a photo of what she loved.
We'd rather tell you what's good this week than promise something out of season. If an order needs a swap, we keep the colours and the feel, and we call you first when it matters.
