Services
What we do
-
Eye exams
For all ages, from first-graders to grandparents. Priya, our optometrist, checks how you see and how your eyes are doing, then explains what she found in plain words before you leave the room.
$125 adult exam
-
Contact lenses
Fittings for new wearers and for people changing type or brand. We measure, you try a pair, and we show you how to put them in and take them out before you go home.
Fitting from $70
-
Glasses
A small frame wall with something for the farm, the office and the school run. Dale, our optician, takes the measurements, orders the lenses and adjusts the fit when they come in.
Frames from $95
-
Prescription safety glasses
Made to your prescription for farm and trade work: the shop, the welding bay, the grain bin, the shift on a site. Bring the pair you wear now, and ask your employer what protection the job calls for.
From $240
-
Repairs
Loose screws, new nose pads, a bent frame, a temple that no longer sits right. Most are done while you wait, even if the glasses came from somewhere else.
From $15

Your visit
How it goes
Check in
Dale, our optician, greets you at the front counter, takes your glasses and your questions, and gets you started.
A few quick checks
Some short measurements on our instruments in the front room. About ten minutes.
The exam
With Priya, our optometrist: the letter chart, the lenses she flips between, and a look at the eyes themselves. Around half an hour, longer for a first visit or a contact lens fitting.
The talk
What she found, whether glasses or contacts make sense, and what the options cost. Nothing is ordered until you say so.
Frames and fitting
Try frames at the wall, and Dale adjusts them to fit. Glasses are ready to collect when we call.

Questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book an eye exam with us directly. Call, or use the request form below.
Will Manitoba Health or my plan cover the visit?
That depends on your age, your plan and what the visit is for. We post our fees so you can compare them with what Manitoba Health or your benefits provider tells you. We give you an itemized receipt, and you are welcome to ask us how a claim usually works before you come.
Do you see children?
Yes. Bring any glasses they wear now. A time when they are usually rested and fed tends to make for an easier visit.
Can you make safety glasses for my job?
We make prescription safety glasses for farm and trade work. Ask your employer what kind of eye protection the job requires, then bring that detail, or the pair you wear now, and we will go from there.
How long does a repair take?
A loose screw, a new nose pad or a bent frame is usually done while you wait. A snapped bridge or a broken lens can take longer, and we tell you at the counter.
Do you do laser eye surgery?
No. We do not do surgery or laser vision correction. If you are asking about either, we can refer you to an ophthalmologist.
I hurt my eye. Should I come in?
No. Go to the nearest hospital emergency department. We are not set up for eye injuries.
