Dog and cat grooming · Riversdale, Saskatoon

A good groom, one dog at a time.

Wagtail is a three-groomer studio on Tamarack Lane. Each groomer takes one dog from bath to bandana, drop-offs are staggered so nobody sits in a crate all morning, and we text you the moment your dog is ready.

  • One dog per groomer
  • Short crate time
  • Cats on Tuesdays

How the studio runs

Three groomers, three tables, three dogs. That's the whole room.

Lots of salons take every dog in at 8 am and work down the row of crates. We book each groomer one dog at a time, so the dog on the table has someone's full attention and the next one is still at home on the couch.

Crate time is short: only while a coat finishes air-drying or your ride is on the way.

Your first visit

New to Wagtail? Here's how it goes.

  1. Send a request or call

Tell us about your dog: breed, size, age, and anything that makes them nervous. We call or text back to find a time.

  2. Drop off at your time

A five-minute chat at the counter about the cut you want, then your dog goes straight to their groomer.

  3. We text you when they're done

Usually with a photo. Please come within about 30 minutes so the wait in a crate stays short.

  4. Pick up a clean dog

We'll tell you how it went, what we noticed, and when the coat will want doing again.

The cat day

Tuesday belongs to the cats.

Cats don't love barking, dryers or strange dogs walking past the door. So on Tuesdays we don't book any dogs at all. The studio is quiet, the dryers are on low or off, and each cat gets one groomer and a slow pace.

  • No dogs in the building
  • One cat at a time
  • Towel or low-heat drying
  • We stop if your cat says no

Ready for a fresh coat?

Send a request with your dog's details and we'll call or text you back within the working day to find a time. Nothing is booked until we've talked.
